You also have various study options, excellent online learning resources with College of Law Elite and generally experienced tutors.
The City of York is one of Europe’s most attractive cities, surrounded as it is by ancient walls. The College of Law York LPC Centre in York is situated on the south side of York near the York Racecourse. It has a good reputation amongst firms in the north east and its building offers all the benefits of a modern college with large classrooms and study rooms boasting of state of the art IT facilities.

College of Law York LPC Facilities
The College of Law York has great facilities in a modern setting. There are spacious class and study rooms with up-to-date IT facilities. A big bonus is ample free car parking and also good cycle paths and bus connections if you’re not driving.
College of Law Elite – The College of Law York’s Online Learning
The College of Law York LPC has one of the best online learning resources known as the College of Law ELITE. If you enrol with the College of Law York LPC you’ll probably spend as much time on ELITE as you do in lectures. Once you login to College of Law ELITE you’ll not only have access to all your course materials but also announcements, test results and other tools such as a Digital Drop Box for your files, calendars, etc.
Some College of Law LPC students say they login to ELITE so much that it does not make much difference which location you choose to study at.
College of Law York LPC Electives
The College of Law approaches LPC electives differently from other law schools. First you choose your career path and then select three appropriate vocational electives. The three career paths they offer are Corporate, Commercial and Private, and Legal Aid. The vocational electives on offer include:

College of Law York LPC Study Hours
The College of Law York offers what it calls ‘flexible study modes’ so you can choose whether to cram your LPC into 7 months, do the standard 1 year course or take a part time option ranging from 16 months to 2 years.
Within this you can choose to study day time, evening, weekends or 24/7 if you take the 7 month option! Don’t forget as much material is available when you login to the College of Law York ELITE, you’ll be able to study at hours that suit you.
The College of Law York full time LPC has a 2 day timetabling option meaning that lectures and tutorials are scheduled on just 2 days a week which makes it a lot easier if you are commuting.
College of Law York LPC Admissions Requirements / Application
- Qualifying law degree (minimum lower second class honours), or qualifying non-law degree (minimum lower second class honours) and GDL or CPE, or similar qualification such as ILEX/FILEX
- All applicants must demonstrate a sufficient command of English to be able to complete the course
- Academic or other references may be required.
- As with all other LPC law schools, admission applications are handled via the Central Applications Board.
College of Law York LPC Fees
The College of Law York fees start from £10,175 and is the cheapest College of Law. Part time fees are half the full time fee each year.
