Bournemouth has been running the LPC since 1994 and so now they are well established with both full time and part time options. Some of the advantages of Bournemouth University, in addition to the relaxed location, are they offer a variety of both ‘High Street’ and ‘Commercial Law’ electives at a reasonable price compared to some of the big city law colleges.

Bournemouth University LPC Facilities
The Bournemouth LPC is housed in the Executive Business Centre on the Lansdowne Campus. This modern building offers a very professional environment with great facilities. These include an e-library, bespoke study areas, executive dining and a Caffé Liscio coffee shop. There is also a dedicated law library. The computer centres are open 24/7 and there is also WIFI across the campus.
The building is also in the heart of Bournemouth so you are not far from all the action.
Bournemouth University LPC Online Learning
Bournemouth does have a Virtual Learning Environment called myBU. This is aimed at supporting your studies as most tuition is done face to face and in small groups.
Bournemouth University LPC Distance Learning
There is no dedicated distance learning programme for the Bournemouth LPC.

You can choose three electives in Stage 2. Electives offered on the Bournemouth LPC include:

Bournemouth University Legal Practice Course Study Hours
Stage One takes place between September and March/April each year. Part-time students will study units in the same classes as the full-time students, but you will only attend for 2-3 days each week, allowing you to fit your other commitments around your studies.
Stage Two elective subjects are taught between April and July each year.
Bournemouth University LPC Admission Requirements / Application
Bournemouth University selects students purely on the basis of their written application – there are no interviews. However, you’d had best sound interested a legal career and be enthusiastic about tackling the demands of the course.
You will of course have to satisfy the requirements of the academic stage of legal education and be enrolled as a student member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority. You must also hold a recognized law degree or gained the Common Professional examination or GDL equivalent.
Applications for the full-time course should be made through the Central Applications Board (CAB).

Bournemouth University LPC Careers Service
Like all universities, Bournemouth do have a careers service. However, they do not make a big deal about how much they support students or help them find a training contract. This is certainly one area you should investigate more – especially if you don’t have a training contract as yet.
